Legal and data

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ViewCircuit Digital handles personal data collected through this website. It covers what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to make a request about your data.

We publish articles about planning, building, and maintaining websites and mobile applications for businesses. This site is informational. There is no account to create, nothing to buy, and no payment step anywhere on it. The site operator is identified in the contact details below.

Data we collect

We collect information you give us directly. When you submit the contact form, that means your name, your email address, and the content of your message. If you write to us by email instead, we hold the same details in that thread. We do not ask for your postal address, your date of birth, or any payment details, and there is nowhere on this site to enter them.

We also collect a limited amount of technical data automatically when you read the site. This covers the pages you visit and general information about your device or browser, such as the type of browser and roughly how the page was displayed. It is used to understand how the site is used and to spot things that are broken. This data is not used to build a profile of you as an individual.

Why we collect it

Contact form data is used to respond to your enquiry, to verify and act on corrections you ask for, and to maintain a record of editorial correspondence. That last part matters on an article-led site: if a reader points out that something in a guide is out of date or wrong, we want the original message on file while we check it. Technical data is used to keep the site working, to identify errors, and to understand which articles are read.

We do not use this data for automated decision-making. No part of this site makes a decision about you without a person reading the message first, and we do not use your details to send marketing email you did not ask for.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses cookies and similar storage technologies. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others help us understand which articles are read. The categories we use, what each one does, and how to control them in your browser are set out in our cookie policy, which forms part of this privacy notice.

If you clear cookies or block them, the site still works. The only thing you lose is our ability to count reads accurately, which affects how we choose what to write next.

It lists the cookie categories this site uses and explains how to change your settings in the browser you are reading with.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with service providers who help operate the site, such as the hosting provider that keeps the pages online, strictly as needed for that purpose. Those providers work to our instructions and are not permitted to use your details for anything else.

We may disclose information where required by law, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of the site or its readers. If we ever have to do that, we keep the disclosure as narrow as the situation allows.

Retention

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and maintain editorial records, after which they are deleted or anonymised. A correction thread may be kept a little longer, because it explains why an article reads the way it does now. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period appropriate to their purpose.

When the retention period for a message ends, we remove it rather than leaving it in a folder nobody looks at. If you want to know which of your messages we still hold, ask and we will check.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, ask for corrections, request deletion, or object to certain processing. You can also ask us to restrict how we use your data while a question is being sorted out, and you can ask for a copy of what you sent us in a common file format.

To make a request, use the contact form or email the address below. Tell us what you want and which address you wrote from, so we can find the right record. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. If we cannot do what you asked, we will explain why.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold, including limiting who inside the team can open contact messages. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, so we cannot eliminate all risk, and we do not claim to.

Please do not send confidential material such as identity documents or payment details through the contact form. If your enquiry needs that kind of detail, ask first and we will suggest a safer way to share it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page, so the copy you are reading is the copy in force. If a change affects how we handle messages you have already sent, we will say so here rather than quietly editing the text.

This page was last reviewed in November 2026.

How to make a request

A request does not need formal wording. A short message with three things in it is enough, and it saves a round of emails:

  • What you would like us to do, in your own words: see your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a stated purpose.
  • The email address you used when you contacted us, so we can locate the right message.
  • Roughly when you got in touch, if you remember. A month and year is usually enough.

We may ask one follow-up question to confirm the request came from you. After that we act, and we tell you what we did.

Questions readers ask about this policy

Do I need an account to read this site?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no member area. You can read every article without giving us anything, and nothing on the site asks you to buy or subscribe.

What happens after I send a message through the contact form?

It arrives with the team that handles editorial correspondence, and a person reads it. If your message is about a guide on the site, we may keep it on file while we check the passage you mention. Otherwise it is kept only as long as the enquiry needs.

Can I ask you to delete a message I already sent?

Yes. Write to the address above and tell us which message it was. We will remove it, or explain why a short record has to stay, for example where it documents a correction to an article.

Does this site take payments?

No. There is no checkout, no card entry, and no billing step anywhere on the site, so we never hold payment details. If a project conversation ever needs commercial paperwork, it happens by invoice outside this website.

How quickly will you answer a data request?

We aim to reply well inside the period the applicable law allows, and we will tell you if a request needs longer because it is complicated. You will hear from a person, not an automated reply.
